I grew up in a very small rural town in Nebraska. So small in fact that those driving into town were welcomed by a sign reading “Welcome to the Middle of Nowhere!”. I spent a large part of my childhood exploring nature and spending as much time as possible outside, which is where I get my love for nature and landscape photography. It allows me to capture that same carefree feeling that I had as a child. I think my love of photography really comes from my mother. She was constantly capturing our lives through the lens. With five children I think she was trying to document as much as possible and not miss a single moment as we grew up.
I primarily focus on nature and landscape photography but also love portraiture especially capturing the bond between people and their pets. It’s a wonderful thing to be able to freeze that love and trust between a pet and their owner.
FUN FACTS ABOUT ME!
I’m a full time employee for the federal government and I work in the environmental compliance field.
I was an archaeologist prior to my current job. Not as exciting as Indiana Jones but I did have a few run-ins with some nasty critters in the woods. No, I didn’t look for Dinosaur bones :)
My photography is often inspired by music and lyrics.
I have 4 siblings!
